Each formed around a thick gold wire circle, the lower part supporting an openwork stylised palmette, the surface granulated and further inlaid with four seed-pearls around a central turquoise, the low crescent panel with similar decoration and inset stones, a band of wirework hemispherical sockets along the lower edge, a similar spherical element above a similar floral collar at the clasp. the reverse of each inset stone also with a wirework hemispherical socket, very slight damages, inset stones possibly replaced

Lot Essay

A filigree gold buckle of cusped palmette outline and very similar workmanship to the present earrings is in the al-Sabah Collection, Kuwait, inv. no. 1174J.
