A Smith, Beck & Beck Achromatic Table Stereoscope in mahogany, with brass-bound lenses inscribed R. & J. Beck Achromatic and Stereoscope 31 Cornhill London, the brass lens panel numbered 2308, rack focusing, a hinged mirror, tilting card holder, reflector with one white and one mirrored side for use when viewing transparencies, on a stepped base, the whole inverting into a matching storage box with brass rotary locks, this also acting as a base when the viewer is in use; original matching mahogany cabinet stand with fitted interior for storage of viewer and cards, inset brass handles, lock with key, tooled leather pad on top panel, total height in use approx. 23 in.; with Description of the Achromatic Table Stereoscope, and of the Patent Achromatic Mirror Stereoscope, invented and manufactures by Smith, Beck & Beck., 31, Cornhill E.C. (Late 6, Coleman Street,) London, E.C., March 1864, a 10-page illustrated booklet including a list of prices for the items described, stereoscopic transparencies on glass and stereo cards, signed in ink on front cover Fredk Ingall.
