The Constantinople views comprise six harbour scenes, three landscapes, four architectural studies including the Mosque of the Sultan Ahmen and the Hagia Sophia and one portrait study of a woman. The Athens views include four of the acropolis and one showing Lycabettus Hill.

The photographs in this and the following two lots are from an album compiled by a Frenchman documenting a journey from Tiflis in Georgia through Armenia, into Persia, Turkey, Greece and finishing back in Paris.
