Established in 1854, the firm of Edwards and Roberts began trading at 2 Wardour Street as 'Antique and Modern cabinet makers and importers of ancient furniture', and by 1898 their business had grown to include a number of other addresses in the vicinity. The firm retailed 17th and 18th-Century furniture and also reproduced furniture in the French Empire and ancien rgime styles, employing the company label or stamp for both its 'antique' furniture and modern productions.
