Coningsby Disraeli was the son of Benjamin Disraeil (d.1881), novelist, Chancellor of the Exchequer and Prime Minister in 1868 and from 1874 to 1880, and his wife who was created Viscountess Beaconsfield in her own right in 1868. Benjamin purchased Hughenden Manor in 1848. The house became a National Trust property in 1947.
