THE TEN COMMANDMENTS, 1956
A pair of "Tablets" from the Cecil B. DeMille epic starring Charlton Heston as "Moses". The tablets are constructed of painted fiberglass and wood and feature the words LEFT and RIGHT on the verso of the respective tablets. The tablets were constructed by A.J Ciraolo, a scenic artist on the film. Asked to create six different sets of tablets for lighting purposes, Ciraolo handpainted the tablets with coat after coat of oil-based Japan Colors to give a rough hewn look of depth to the fiberglass. Consigned by A.J Ciraolo's son, these were one of the six sets of "Ten Commandment Tablets" created for the film. 24 x 12 x 1 1/4 inches
