Lot Essay

Cf: Sabine Forsthuber, op. cit., p. 107

The interior at the XXIII Secession exhibition shows two of the chairs designed by Plenik alongside two of those designed by Hans Vollmer (See Lot 36).
Plenik was also responsible for the clever arrangement of the rooms which were organised to give maximum attention to the design by Otto Wagner for the Steinhofkirche which was being exhibited.
