The latter highlights the amazing sense of movement given to the chair by the subtle undulation of the back legs and the sweep of the back rail to the front legs.
The dining room designed by Hoffmann, for which the original design of the chair was made, was exhibited both at the 1899 Museum fr Kunst und Industrie and again at the 1900 Exhibition in Paris.
