the beast standing four square on a rectangular base with its head turned to the left and inclined slightly downwards, wearing a tiger skin saddle cloth and moulded trappings decorated with hanging tassles, traces of red, white and black pigments remaining -- 15in. (39.4cm.) high, Tang Dynasty, (some restoration and old wear).
