Six character Jiajing mark, circa 1650
The steeply flaring sides painted to the exterior with blue-washed Buddhistic lions prancing between flowering stems of peony, encircled with double-line borders at the short cylindrical foot and brown-edged rim, the interior with a roundel enclosing a similar flower-stem below a band of a meandering foliate scroll
