A silver and agate-mounted snuff box and a silver and gilt snuff box
Apparently unmarked, possibly England, circa 1750 and only marked with badly struck maker's mark DS, circa 1760
Of octagonal form, the sides panelled and waisted, the mounts reeded, all-over engraved with flowerheads against trelliswork and shell motifs, the cover set with an agate plaque, with shaped thumb-piece and one of rectangular form, the cover stepped and cast with a partly engraved scroll and foliate cartouche centered by two cherubs, the sides with scrolling foliage and centered by a vacant cartouche,the mounts reeded and with shaped thumb-piece
