A small Fine Silver Megillat Esther Case
Apparently unmarked, probably Germany, late 17th Century
With plain tapering handle, the cylindrical body with beaded rim decorated with scrolled foliage and flower heads, surmounted by a detachable flower bud knob, includes plain thumbpiece, containing a Megillat Esther (partly faded), ink on parchment, 22 lines per column, parchment 6.2 cm (2 1n.) high, column 4.8 cm (1 7n.) high.
