Lot Essay

Di Reurhoff-Behrens, born in Germany, moved to Bussum in 1923, where she took painting lessons from a.o. Bart van der Leck, Harrie Kuijten and Willem Schrofer. This lead to several exhibitions in Amsterdam (Rijksmuseum 1923; Santee Landweer 1967). Reurhoff-Behrens expressed herself through abstract compositions, calligraphies and collages.
