After having visited French West Africa in 1933, Tellier won a travel grant to French Equatorial Africa in 1938. His work from this last trip was shown at the Salon de Socit Coloniale des Artistes Franais, notably at the II Salon de la France d'Outre-Mer, Paris, 1940.
