Lot Essay

The Mossi, people of Upper Volta and other parts of West Africa, were sedentary farmers. Their society, organised on the basis of a feudal kingdom was divided into royalty, nobles, commoners, and slaves. At the top of the hierarchy was the morho naba, whose seat was located at Ouagadougou.
