Another portrait by Bcat of a Yakoma dancer was exhibited at the Salon de la Socit Coloniale des Artistes Franais, 1934, no. 75. Ouango was situated on the Mbomou river in the Upper Mbomou district of Oubangui. The Yakoma, formerly cannibals, lived from fishing, like other ethnic groups of the region. Bcat was one of the rare artist to visit these small villages on the African rivers.
