A German walnut and marquetry bureau cabinet-on-stand
Mid 18th Century
Crossbanded and banded overall and inlaid with quarter-veneered simulated panels, the arched moulded cornice surmounted by a spreading pedestal, above a door inlaid with a musical trophy, enclosing a plain interior with a shelf, surrounded by nine variously sized drawers, the hinged fall-front centred by a floral spray, enclosing a later interior with five drawers, flanked to either side by two small drawers, the serpentine-fronted stand with a long frieze drawer above a kneehole, flanked by two short drawers, on cabriole legs terminating in pad feet, the marquetry later, restorations
