This console was purchased in 1927 for a country house in Touraine and the white stone of the region - Tuffaut- may have played a part in the inspiration for the design. Sketches for a similar console were exhibited at the Muse des Arts Decoratifs exhibition Emilio Terry. Annes Trentes dessins et maquettes
