A French carved walnut side-cabinet
In the Gothic Revival Style, Circa 1880
The upper section with canopied top carved with gothic tracery and finials, flanked to the sides by a quatrefoil gallery, above a central section carved with an open arch with pierced tracery and in high relief with a medieval battle scene, to each side a foliate-carved galleried section above a cupboard door carved with the profile of a soldier, supported on four spirally-fluted columns surmounted by grotesque gargoyles, with recessed galleried shelf and linen-fold panelled back, the rectangular lower section with four foliate-carved frieze drawers divided by four monk gargoyles, with four tracery-carved cupboards divided by spirally-fluted columns below, the interior with a single shelf, with linen-fold panelled sides, on a rectangular base
