A Meissen helmet-shaped ewer
Circa 1740, blue crossed swords mark, Dreher's three dots mark
Of silver form, with foliage-moulded gilt enriched double-scroll handle with acanthus leaf terminal, the body of finely incised shell-moulded form, painted in Purpurmalerei with Commedia dell'arte figures among trees and shrubs, on a faceted knopped stem and shaped quatrefoil foot with indianische Blumen (minute chip to underside of handle and slight chips to foot)
