A Meissen ornithological baluster coffee-pot and cover
Circa 1750, blue crossed swords mark, incised R. to footrim
With moulded foliage-scroll handle and shell and scroll-moulded spout, painted with a cockerel and hen nesting near a dovecot with a bird in flight above, the reverse with waterbirds on a lake including a spoonbill, a duck in flight above, within moulded foliage and C-scroll cartouches and with scattered bouquets and flower-sprays, the domed cover with further birds on branches, a gilt line rim and a pink flower finial (some minor rubbing to gilding)
