A Meissen teabowl and a saucer
The teabowl circa 1740, the saucer circa 1770, blue crossed swords mark to teabowl, blue crossed swords and dot mark, blue circle and Pressnummer 43 to saucer, gilder's 27. to both
The teabowl painted with river-landscapes with figures before a distant fortified city and a tower, both within shaped oval quatrefoil gilt cartouches with Bttger-lustre and iron-red diaper panels enriched with puce swags, foliage and figures, the interior with a bouquet of indianische Blumen, the saucer similarly decorated, the interior of the teabowl and the rim of the saucer with borders of gilt interlocking scrolling foliage (slight wear to saucer) (2)
