Six Meissen cutlery handles from the Mollendorf service
Circa 1761
Each of oval section and slightly tapering form, painted in iron-red with bouquets of indianische Blumen enriched with gilding, between bands alternately moulded with musical trophies and flowers within scrolling cartouches, the orange-ground ends with gilt scale ornament, comprising:
Three handles fitted with silver-gilt dessert-spoons
Three handles fitted with silver three-tined forks (one with two hairline cracks, gilding of metal worn away)
(the handles with minute wear to gilding)
