A Beilby polychrome enamelled opaque-twist ale-flute
Circa 1765
The slender ogee bowl enamelled in colours with flowering Scotch thistle beneath a Royal Crown and above the motto Nemo me Impune Lacefsit.(No one shall provide me with impunity), the reverse enamelled in white with a hovering butterfly, the stem with a multi-ply corkscrew core enclosed within two entwined ribbons, on a conical foot (chips to footrim)
