Lot Essay
'Lavery visited Mougins during the 1920s, on the occasions he stayed at Cannes. The hill-village lies a few miles north of the port off the road to Grasse. During the twenties it was attractive to British and American visitors because it housed the Cannes Country Club and boasted an 18-hole golf course. An upright view of the hill-town exists in a private collection'.
