Literature
A similar table referred to as an Alehouse table is illustrated in C. Gilbert, English Vernacular Furniture 1750-1900, Yale University Press, 1991, p. 90, fig. 125. The author suggests that this particular pattern of table was especially popular throughout the 19th Century and into the early 20th Century.
