Contemporary Dutch vellum gilt, gilt edges, green silk fore-edges ties (some ties defective).

Volume I: Arctic and Northern Europe, dated 1664, letterpress general title, letterpress title with hand-coloured engraved vignette, 14 plates, including 4 double-page views Tycho Brahe's astronomical observatory and instruments, 76 maps, 70 double-page, 6 half-page, 10 hand-coloured illustrations. (Small paper flaw to margin of D3, neat old repair to margin of L1 affecting platemark of map of Tartary.)
Volume II: Germany, Switzerland and Eastern Europe: dated 1664, letterpress title with hand-coloured engraved vignette, 107 maps, 3 folding, 104 double-page, all hand-colorued. (A few maps lightly discoloured, map 16 with a short marginal tear, map 77 browned at edges.)
Volume III: The Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg, dated 1664: letterpress title with hand-coloured engraved vignette, 2 engraved section titles hand-coloured and heightened in gilt, 67 maps, 1 folding, 63 double-page, 3 half-page. (Old vertical crease to map 1, paper flaw to margin of map 45, some occaisonal very light discolouration to a few text leaves only.) Old horizontal scratch marks to covers.
