Manuscript estate plan of Bevon Island, St Christopher (St Kitts), ink and wash on paper, 545 x 445mm. The plan showing the estate divided into eleven canefields, garden and pasture, 'Works & Negro-houses' and 'Gut side, Provision-Ground, Mountain-Land, Ranges &c', title set within a decorative floral cartouche, scale bar, compass rose, inset table of acreages, the plan within a thick ruled border (slight soiling, a few minor tears).

An interesting plan of a slave plantation in St Kitts, drawn up in the years between the abolition of the slave trade in British possessions in 1807 and the abolition of slavery itself in 1833. Sugar planting was the mainstay of agriculture in St Kitts from the earliest decades of its European settlement.
