The publication of this extraordinary historical atlas of Egypt, Africa and the Middle East, was undertaken and financed by the Egyptian prince, Yusuf Kamal. The plates reproduce the greatest maps of the region. Copies were presented to libraries, institutions, and individuals, including the author and editor of the commentary, the eminent Dutch cartographer and librarian, Frederick Caspar Wieder, to whom the present copy belonged. The work comprises:
