2 parts in 1 volume, large 2 (557 x 384mm). Original upper wrappers bound in, 10 hand-coloured lithographic plates after John Gould by William Hart and Henry Constantine Richter, printed by Walter. (A few small unobtrusive spots.) Red modern half morocco.

The first part, published October 1880, contained 10 plates and accompanying text, but the second part, dated simply 1881 contained text leaves only and no plates. The text to the seoncd part was written by Gould and edited by Richard Bowdler Sharpe, after Gould's demise.
