Contemporary French red morocco gilt BOUND FOR PRINCE EUGENE OF SAVOY with his arms [Olivier 787, fer 2] at centre of sides and in spine compartments, marbled endpapers, gilt edges (lightly rubbed at extremities). Provenance: Prince Eugene of Savoy (1663-1736, his collection bequeathed to:); emperor Charles VI (collection passed to:); Vienna, Imperial Library (duplicate stamp on title verso); Dukes of Devonshire (Chatsworth bookplate, sale Christie's, 24 February 1982, lot 517).
