2 volumes in one, 12 (162 x 97mm). Engraved frontispiece portrait of Rochester. EXTRA-ILLUSTRATED WITH 136 PLATES. The first volume with 24 pages from another work bound in at end. (Title to vol. I with repaired tear affecting first word of imprint, final leaf torn with slight loss and repaired, occasional thumb-soiling.) Later 19th-century crimson morocco, elaborate gilt-tooling, gilt edges (rear inner hinges split). Provenance: Blayney Baldwyn (18th-century bookplate removed from the original binding); 'Belonged to the late Duke of Cambridge Bought at Christie's 1896 20' (loosely inserted pencil note); Catalani (bookplate on rear pastedown). First published in 1707 as The Miscellaneous Works of the Right Honourable the late Earls of Rochester and Roscommon.
