A very fine manuscript of astrological tabulation and theory. The authorship and date are disputed: the manuscript has been attributed both to William Lilly and to John Gadbury (on the basis of agreement between the tables in the present manuscript and those in Gadbury's Genethealogia); the date of 1643 is too early for the Gadbury attribution. The manuscript is distinctive for the neatness of the hand and the elaborate care taken over the tables and diagrams, in the treatise in particular.
The title page, annotated as being in the hand of R.C. Smith (a noted 19th-century astrologer), describes the contents very fully: 'Containing 360 Figures With the Right Ascension in Time & Degrees The Sun's Semi-diurnal Arch in Time. also The length of each Planetary Hour throughout the Year. With a Table of the Almuten's of every House annexed to each figure Likewise A number of Illuminated Tables Viz Of the Planetary Dignities: Of the Dodecatemorion's: Of the Antiscion's: Of the Nobonary's: Of the Dodecatemorion of the Signs: Of the Affections of the Planets: Of Friendships & Enmities: And a Curious Embellish'd Scheme Of Aspects &c &c 1643'.
