The Flora medallion featured in the pediment of an organgery executed in 1784 at Earsham, Norfolk (see A. Kelly, 'Sir John Soane and Mrs. Eleanor Coade', Apollo, April 1989).

Medallions of flower and fruit wreathed female figures, in antique fluted frames, could symbolise Peace and Plenty or the Seasons of Spring and Autumn. Related Coade Stone medallions, dating from around 1790, feature on the faade of Gosford House, Scotland (See A. Kelly, Mrs Coade's Stone, London, 1990, p.75).
