The case of typical rectangular form engraved overall with scrolling foliage on a hatched ground, hinged loop handle to the top and with folding strut to the reverse, the backplate signed by the retailer Payne & Co. 163 New Bond Street, London. No. 1676, the base stamped with Cole's serial number 1761, the silvered dial profusely engraved with foliage and flowerheads to the centre, Roman chapter ring and fine blued steel hands, the movement with going barrel and vertically positioned platform lever escapement with plain three-arm steel balance, the backplate stamped at the base THOs COLE LONDON
