The case of plinth form with boxwood border inlay in panels to the four sides and top, (later rear door), milled ormolu glazed bezel to the silvered Roman dial with regulation square above XII, ormolu moon hands, the recessed centre signed Leroy & Fils Hers. du Roi with visible double wheel escapement with jewelled pallet, the movement with twin barrels and strike on a bell fixed to the backplate signed Leroy a Paris 3056/262
