The plinth case inlaid with scrolling foliage with boxwood mouldings, the front inset with a silvered thermometer panel engraved Thermomtres measured by a mecurial and alcohol thermometer with identical calibration, the dial with ormolu bezel to a Roman silvered chapter ring with ormolu arrow hands, large engine-turned subsidiary seconds ring at VI, the recessed centre signed Borel A Paris beneath visible deadbeat escapement with jewelled pallets, the movement with twin barrels and strike on a bell fixed to the backplate numbered 409; with rectangular glass dome
