The case with flambeau urn finials to the concave moulded top with later top moulding and cresting, handles to the glazed sides, brass-lined and fluted stop-chamfered angles flanking the brass-lined glazed front door with foliate pierced and chased quarter frets, the brass-bound base on bracket feet, the dial signed Eardley Norton London within the ogee arch flanked by subsidiary silvered rings for chime/not chime and four tune music selection; Sonerta, Lordly March, March & Minuet, the narrow silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with blued steel hands, the matted centre with calendar aperture above VI, the six pillar triple wire fusee movement with original verge escapement, the quarter chime and music playing on eight bells via thirteen hammers with hour strike on further bell, the backplate profusely engraved with scrolling foliage and similarly signed within a foliate cartouche, pendulum holdfast and similarly engraved movement securing brackets to the case
