M. Le Comte de Toreno was just one of the members of the Spanish aristocracy who patronised Breguet following the restoration of the Bourbons to the French and Spanish thrones and the subsequent improved relations between the two countries.
The case for this watch was made by Tavernier, a most accomplished and skilled craftsman who began work with Breguet in 1792 and continued working under his son following Breguet's death in 1823.
