Armagnac, Semp--Vintage 1908 Tasting note: The amber colour is quite marvelous. There are spices pushing orange peel and prunes to the nose. The impression of wood is rather dominant. The taste is not quite too sweet and delicately spirited. This is an extremely delicate and well preserved armagnac.

A SUPERB RANGE OF SEMPE ARMAGNAC

The first known distilling of armagnac dates back to 1411, two hundred years before the birth of cognac. It was created in this tiny landlocked region of France, one hundred miles south of Cognac, where it remained, known only by those who lived nearby.
Armagnac is still produced from the same vineyards in France, in the same centuries-old manner. Unique "alambic" stills are used to singly distill white wines made from the finest Saint-Emilion grapes. Aged in oaken casks these select armagnacs create the Semp collection. Each has its own distinctive character.
