Royal Tokaji Nyulsz 1st Growth Vineyard Asz, 6 puttonyos --Vintage 1993
This celebrated First Growth single vineyard Nyulsz (meaning in Hungarian "to catch rabbits") is one of the most sought after estates in the whole Tokaj region. Royal Tokaji now owns 12 ha. The 12 degree slope faces South East at a height of 200 metres above sea level. The average age of the vines is 20 years. The 6 puttonyos 1993 vintage is a classic example of how great Tokaj Asz wine should taste in a great vintage year.
Tasting note: pale amber with golden specks. Honey and mango dominates the nose. Enormous on the palate, where smokey wood mixes with honey and "fat" apricots. mango and exotic fruits. Peter Vinding-Diers
