Frances Henrietta, was the youngest daughter and co-heiress of Edward Sulyarde, of Haughley Park, Suffolk, and Wetherden, Essex. She married Sir George William Stafford Jerningham, 7th Bt., and later 8th Baron Stafford (1771-1851), as his first wife, on 26 December 1799. This picture is a finished study for the head and shoulders of the full-length portrait of Mrs. Jerningham, which originally belonged to Lord Stafford of Costessey Hall, Norwich.
