Each delicately modelled with pierced walls and supported on four paw feet, the interior enamelled at the base with a colourful flower spray, the deep liner with a spearhead band around the flat rim suspending floral garlands, the centre with a small flower spray

Lot Essay

This form of salt is rarely found in Chinese porcelain. There is a very similar salt in a famille rose part-service in the Bisdom van Vliet Museum, Haastrecht, illustrated by D.F. Lunsingh Scheurleer, op.cit., 1974, fig.159.
