Decorated in various coloured enamels and gilt, the two doves side by side with details realistically rendered and the feathers finely incised, chip restored to beak, with wood box inscribed Ninsei-gama iroe socho Makuzu Kozan saku [Pair of birds with coloured decoration made by Makuzu Kozan from the Ninsei kiln]
