A GROUP OF SIX OJIME
Edo Period (19th Century)
The first with three hares among grasses, signed Shungyoku; the second with the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac; one with the Shichifukujin [The Seven Gods of Good Fortune]; of a rat standing on a worm-eaten chestnut, eyes inlaid in dark horn; another of the 'Three Mystic Apes', holding their hands over their eyes, ears and mouth, signed Yusai; the last in copper and carved in relief with Daruma wrapped in his cloak, only revealing his face, signed Sogetsu
