Edo Period (17th Century)
The russet iron mask well made with pouched cheeks, the nose riveted on, a wide mouth has gilded soft metal teeth with a hair moustache and chin tuft, the hooks for the chin cord on the cheeks, the surface of the mask is engraved with parallel lines [yasuri bori], the interior lacquered black, a two plate throat defence is attached to the mask with a broad band of doe skin
