Signed Mito Ju Yoshiomi, Edo Period (19th Century)
The russet iron mask well forged with wrinkles on the upper cheeks and around the mouth which is small and without teeth, a detachable nose held by hooks is quite large and curved giving the mask a slightly comical appearance, the upper lip a separate plate riveted on as are the well formed naturalistic ears, simple shaped pegs beneath the chin, the throat defence of five solid plates is laced with spaced lacing
