The Helmet Edo Period (17th Century) The Rest Edo Period (18th/19th Century)
Comprising a thirty-two plate black lacquered suji bachi [ridged bowl] helmet with a five lame hineno jikoro [close fitting neckguard] small fujigayeshi with gilt copper mon [badge], gilded copper cresent moon forecrest associated, a black lacquered mask with gilt teeth, moustache and chin tuft; russet lacquered iron two pieces curiass with repeated copper gilt rivet heads, the lower two plates of black lacquered false lamellae, tassets of similar construction, small shoulder guards [ko sode] of black lacquered iron false lamellae, sleeves of russet lacquered iron plates on dark blue hemp cloth, the hand defences originally detachable, black lacquered mail and plate thigh guards [ikada haidate] and russet lacquered iron shin guards [shino sunetate] and a pair of fur boots
