Mumei, Probably Bizen School, Momoyama Period (16th century)
The blade, honzukuri and koshizori with itame hada, komidare hamon of nie with midare utsuri and slightly pointed komaru boshi, suriage nakago with three mekugi-ana, 26in. (66.8cm.); in a mijingai-nuri scabbard and russet iron in full handachi fittings including soritsuno, kogai and kozuka decorated with cherry blossoms in gilt nunome zogan with narrow gilt borders, probably Kumagai School of Edo, the iron oval tsuba with long rafts and cherry blossom in yo-sukashi, signed Bushu ju Masakuni
