Oval box, the cover, sides and base engine-turned with concentric elliptical spheres sprinkled with pellets and coated with translucent violet enamel, bordered with opaque white enamel bands, the lid centred with an oval enamel plaque painted with four young nymphs caressing a monk sleeping at a dressed tabled, within a stamped gold framed bordered by opalescent enamel beads, the matted gold borders and side pilasters applied with opalescent enamel beads and opaque turquoise-blue, translucent green and red enamelled flowerheads, leaves and berries
